One of the more interesting things going on up there. 3 x a charm? Hopefully not. She rejected/ veteoed it 2x already. It will be interesting to see as changes have been made to the proposal to address her prior concerns regarding the proposed Act including narrowing its scope and limiting the family members who are eligible to sue for emotional damages.
She also has a new lead lawyer assisting her with policy decision making so Im very curious to see what happens. I would predict that it will be rejected again for the same reasons as before; being increased insurance premiums and also resulting in healthcare facilities possibly closing down, limiting individuals healthcare options and ability to get the care that they need, in an already broken system that cannot take on any more patients or will not accept insurance anymore because their medical malpractice insurance premiums have increased and will continue to increase. The ramifications long-term I think far outweigh the proposed benefits of the Act. Thats my two cents on the subject.
She also has the option I believe to extend her decision a month into the new year
