Members, please be advised that as of today June 5, 2024, the NYS Medical Indemnity Fund (MIF) has reopened because of a $58 million dollar lifeline in state funds which provides a short-term reprieve. The Department of Health has issued the following statement on its website:
NOTICE: The NYS Medical Indemnity Fund will reopen to prospective enrollees effective June 5, 2024. All applications submitted to the Fund for enrollment remain subject to the eligibility requirements of Public Health Law ** 2999-h(4) and 2999-j(7).
What this means is that the Medical Indemnity Fund is open to new enrollees effective today.
